Well So Much For That

man, this really sucks. my digi003 rack unit broke itself. yesterday morning i noticed it just turned itself off. never a good sign. when i got it turned on and rebooted my mac, i noticed everything was working, well everything except the output. nothing in the headphones, nothing from the monitor outputs. zero.

so now i submit a trouble ticket to digidesign for a repair request. but that means i’m going to have to pack this thing up and have it shipped. and then who knows how long it’ll be in the shop. man, this sucks. i can’t even begin to tell you how disappointing this is. my last audio interface, the digi002 up and died and it was this unit, which was given to my for my birthday by my wonderful group of friends who raised money to buy it for me (all without me knowing about it, it just showed up at my door one day shortly after my birthday.)

which makes this doubly sad and disappointing. i don’t deal with disappointment well. i’ve been sulking all day now.

ugh, if i had the money, i’d just rather get a nice toft analog console and a radar digital recorder, and then just a cheap mbox to use pro tools as a mix/mastering. man this is disappointing… sadly i don’t have about $10,000 of spare cash laying about.

well, again, just have to wait and see what happens. crap. i was all set to start writing this next record. GAAHH!!!! well, time to sulk some more and wait to see if digidesign gets back to me tomorrow with some information on how i can get this thing fixed.
